Steven B. Rash, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Rash is a senior executive with a dynamic, 20-year management career building and leading profitable corporations nationwide. An accomplished and versatile professional, Mr. Rash is adept in all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, turnarounds, start-up scenarios and business consolidations. Mr. Rash has been involved in 70 Mergers and Acquisitions from $1 million to over $600 million. Other significant accomplishments include licensing agreements and strategic alliances generating over $650 million in new revenues, FDA approvals, closing of 400 managed care contracts and over 200 presentations to Fortune 500 Board of Directors. Recently, Mr. Rash was President and CFO of Global Water Technologies. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of American BioMed, Vice President of Blue Rhino Corporation and Division President of Maxum Health Corporation, and held numerous Vice President positions at BOC Group, PLC. Mr. Rash has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.
Ira L. Goldknopf, Ph.D., Director & Director of Proteomics
Dr. Goldknopf has over 30 years of proteomic experience. He is a well recognized pioneer and leader in Proteomics, having produced, the first isolation, identification and sequencing of a new protein spot on a 2D gel. He also discovered ubiquitin conjugation of proteins, which laid the groundwork for the 2000 Lasker award. He was cofounder of ProteEx in 2000 and prior to that was founding CEO of UbiquiTex Technologies, and cofounder and VP of R&D of FlowGenix Corporation. His experience also includes Manager GMP, QC/QA, and analytical operations, GAF/ISP and Triplex Pharmaceuticals. He spent 10 years on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and a sabbatical year at the Medical Nobel Institute, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He is the author of more than 70 publications and also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Company.
Essam A. Sheta, Ph.D., CLIA Laboratory Director & Director of Biochemistry
Dr. Sheta has over 27 years of broad academic and research experience in protein biochemistry and cancer cell signaling from Alexandria University in Egypt, Washington State University, The University of Texas at San Antonio and The University of Virginia. He was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship at The University of Texas at San Antonio where he provided the first bidomain structural proof of nitric oxide synthase, the most complex human enzyme known. This was followed by his unique methodology in the first commercial production of the enzyme by overexpression in E. coli. As an Associate Professor of the Department of Biochemistry at Alexandria University, he supervised several graduate students for Master and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry and served on the Fulbright Committee Review Board in Cairo. In 1998, he was honored with an Excellence in Science Award from Alexandria University for his distinguished research accomplishments. Dr. Sheta currently utilizes his scientific expertise and strategy skills at Power3 Medical where he led several discoveries of many disease biomarkers. He shared in drawing strategic plans for the developmental methods and research in proteomics, clinical trial biomarkers validation, and commercialization of biomarkers. Dr. Sheta has also shared in the development of multiple business relationships and writing over 20 patents and numerous peer review journals publications. Dr. Essam Sheta serves as laboratory director for CLIA-compliant testing for Power3’s high complexity labs.
Ginger Meyers, Clinical Programs Director
Ms. Meyers is responsible for planning and execution of the clinical trials and validation studies to support the scientific progress. She works with Principal Investigators and sites to insure proper sample procurement and regulatory standards. Additional responsibilities include grant applications and project management.
